Overview
The March 13 MSQC/ASPIRE Tri-Annual Meeting will bring together surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and other members of the healthcare team from across the state of Michigan to discuss data, identify trends and hear from renowned speakers on a variety of topics that will address knowledge gaps applicable to members of both collaboratives.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Apply evidence-based multimodal pain management strategies, including non-opioid and opioid-sparing approaches, and identify opportunities to optimize perioperative pain control across surgical populations.
  2. Differentiate between MSQC and ASPIRE multimodal pain data abstraction methodologies, including key data elements, limitations and implications for benchmarking and quality improvement.
  3. Explain hospital-level pain management policies including naloxone distribution programs and opioid stewardship efforts, and identify strategies to align policy and best practices with regulatory expectations.
  4. Strengthen collaboration between MSQC and ASPIRE participants, leveraging a shared 10-year partnership to advance data-driven, patient-centered pain management initiatives.

The University of Michigan Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
