Overview
The knowledge explosion in cancer diagnosis and in classical hematology treatment & supportive care demands that hematologists remain current with the latest evidence-based data. Many of Michigan’s community hematologist are not able to attend all of the National and International meetings in which the updates are typically introduced. The Michigan Society of Hematology & Oncology has collaborated with faculty from our cancer centers across the state of Michigan. Our speakers will review all of the abstracts related to their area of expertise throughout 2025, and present the most impactful abstracts in a concise yet informative format. This symposium provides a means for updating Michigan’s hematology specialists’ knowledge base and is needed to disseminate current information to practicing hematologists & to improve the overall standard of care. The positive response to past meetings reinforces that there is a need for this information to be shared with all practicing hematologist in outside academic institutions.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Apply advances in scientific and translational research to the care of their patients.

  3. Implement new practices or review existing ones to improve the quality of care delivered.
