Demonstrate skills and confidence in crisis management in any perioperative situation, as a leader or as part of a team, including delegation and open-loop communication. Learn about pitfalls and near misses including task fixation, distraction and suboptimal communication.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the management of significant hypoxemia from any cause, including the difficult airway.
  2. Demonstrate the management of significant hemodynamic instability.
  3. Practice up-to-date techniques in a safe learning environment.
  4. Reflect on optimal teamwork, leadership and communication skills required in crisis management.
