Overview
The Michigan Bariatric Surgery Collaborative (MBSC) meets tri-annually to discuss data, trends and outcomes from our robust clinical outcomes data registry. We collaborate and engage with our participating sites on various initiatives aimed at improving the quality and decreasing the costs associated with bariatric surgery.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Utilize data on post-bariatric surgery plastic surgery to improve quality of life.
  2. Apply trends in the management of leaks for RYGB and sleeve gastrectomy to improve outcomes.
  3. Understand and apply predictors of smoking recidivism to improve smoking cessation rates.
  4. Understand new, innovative solutions for magnetic bowel anastomoses.

Accreditation
The University of Michigan Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
