The Michigan Pediatric Zero Suicide Engagement Forum is designed to equip pediatric healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills to implement the Zero Suicide framework effectively within their practice. The Zero Suicide framework is a comprehensive, system-wide approach to suicide prevention that emphasizes the role of healthcare systems in preventing suicide deaths. It includes seven key elements: Lead, Train, Identify, Engage, Treat, Transition, and Improve. Each session will explore an element providing strategies to implement the framework and create healthcare systems more responsive to the mental health needs of youth and families.

ACCME Objectives
  1. Identify individuals at risk for suicide by implementing comprehensive, developmentally appropriate screening and assessment protocols within pediatric healthcare settings.
  2. Demonstrate steps to implement the Zero Suicide framework in their clinical setting including suicide risk assessment, intervention techniques, and postvention strategies for children and adolescents.

APA Objectives
  1. Identify individuals at risk for suicide by implementing comprehensive, developmentally appropriate screening and assessment protocols within pediatric healthcare settings.
