Overview
The December 12th MSQC Collaborative-Wide Meeting will bring together surgeons, nurses and other members of the healthcare team from across the state of Michigan to discuss data, identify trends and hear from renowned speakers on a variety of topics that will address knowledge gaps applicable to all members of the healthcare team.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe recent and upcoming MSQC initiatives, including next steps following the September Hernia Summit and SCQR and Surgeon Champion Sessions.
  2. Interpret and apply insights from newly unblinded data reports to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement within their institutions.
  3. Evaluate ongoing innovation efforts, including outcomes and implications from the Spark Tank program.
  4. Analyze current quality improvement projects including the OPEN initiative and SUCCESS catheter toolkit
  5. Assess the impact of updated colorectal cancer (CRC) reports and the "Heal Better, Feel Better' initiative on surgical recovery and patient satisfaction.
  6. Discuss accreditation standards and quality metrics set by the Commission on Cancer (CoC), and understand their implications for surgical practice.

The University of Michigan Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
