Overview
Partners in Pediatric Care (PIPC) is a course designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, residents, and other healthcare professionals involved in primary, specialty, and acute care for children with acute or chronic conditions.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify strategies in mental health care related to the mental health of patient's parents, youth with depression and/or anxiety, as well as for pediatric transplant patients.
  2. Discuss primary care evaluation of physically active pediatric patients to identify risk factors associated with exercise and some indications for orthopedic/sports medicine and cardiology referrals.
  3. Identify healthy eating habits for optimal pediatric nutrition.
  4. List important areas of advocacy in current pediatric health care.
  5. Review ways to avoid missing some important diagnoses in pediatrics which may have subtle presentations or confounding factors.
  6. Discuss the latest updates in endocrinology, plastic surgery, and immunology/allergy.
  7. Describe emergency care and injury prevention in pediatrics related to suicide, firearms, and current trends in ER visits.
