Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Understand and optimize diuresis for ascites.
  2. Manage cases when diuretics are not working.
  3. Avoid hospitalization in hepatic encephalopathy.
  4. Diagnose alcohol use disorder.
  5. Know how to reduce alcohol consumption.
  6. Describe the optimal treatment of alcohol-associated hepatitis.
  7. Know optimal methods for prevention of variceal bleeding.
  8. Know and use best practices for management of gastric antral vascular ectasia.
  9. Explain the role of TIPS for varices.
  10. Know options for HCC screening.
  11. Understand the evaluation of liver masses in cirrhosis.
  12. Review HCC treatment guidelines.
