Overview

This on demand webinar will explore key aspects of diagnosing and managing eating disorders in adolescents and young adults, a population that presents unique challenges for healthcare providers. Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify and analyze the role of personal and systemic biases in the screening and diagnosis of eating disorders, considering how identities (e.g., gender, race, and socioeconomic status) impact assessment and treatment.
  2. Differentiate between the various types of eating disorders using diagnostic criteria and apply case-based scenarios to enhance clinical decision-making.
  3. Recognize the psychiatric and physical manifestations of malnutrition in individuals with eating disorders and apply this knowledge to improve treatment planning and outcomes.
